Beef tenderloin steaks with red wine and herb marinade

Recipe by Nerijaus Ižganaitis, multiple prize-winner and winner of the Lithuanian Barbecue Championships, participant of the European and World Barbecue Championships - beef sirloin steaks with red wine and herb marinade!


  • 1 kg beef tenderloin
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 1 sprig of rosemary
  • 1 tbsp. ground 5 kinds of pepper
  • 2 tbsp. 1 tbsp. Ayuvian oil
  • 1 glass of red wine (semi-dry)
  • 1 pinch of salt (to sprinkle on the roast meat)


Cut the beef tenderloin into 2-2,5 cm thick steaks. Place the chopped thyme, rosemary and pepper in a bowl, add the olive oil and red wine. Stir well and marinate the beef sirloin steaks in this marinade. It is recommended to leave them in the fridge for 4-6 hours to marinate. Grill the steaks for 5-6 minutes at 250 degrees. Sprinkle with salt and leave for a couple of minutes to mature.
