FIOR DI SALE are salt flakes (crystals) extracted from the Sardinian Sea and flavoured with natural myrtle leaves and berries. The salt is completely natural and is harvested by hand only 60 days a year.

FIOR DI SALE translated from Italian means "salt flower". This is the name given to the first crystallisation of salt; the first crystal to form on the surface of the water in evaporation tanks under specific atmospheric conditions due to the unique combination of humidity, water salinity and wind. Salt crystals with different characteristics are collected in many countries around the world, depending on the nature and quantity of minerals dissolved in the different waters of the globe. Collected in the clear Sardinian Sea, it has a unique texture and taste and is highly valued throughout the world.

The salt is naturally sun-dried, not chemically processed or refined, nor washed or bleached, thus preserving the natural minerals in the salt.

It is one of the most luxurious types of salt, valued for its fine and fast-melting crystals, which are spread over the dish.

FIOR DI SALE Mirto contains 4% myrtle leaves and berries. Myrtle is a Mediterranean evergreen shrub with a pleasant scent, 2 metres high.
