GIAN LUCA DEMARCO - a chef well known to Lithuanians. This season, the renewed TV3 show LA MAISTAS, hosted by him, is intended for everyone who wants to enjoy Lithuanian products brought directly from people's farms. In the show, the creators try to show a different Lithuania - with a modern look at the countryside and easy-to-make, but unexpected recipes from everyday Lithuanian products. 

In the second season of the show LA MAISTAS, the creators visited a giant cabbage and carrot farm in Kėdainiai district. So it is not surprising that GIAN LUCA DEMARCO offers us to prepare for lunch very tasty, easy to make layered lamb and cabbage stew.

Stew GIAN LUCA DEMARCO cooked on a travel grill COBB, perfect for cooking not only while traveling, but also in your own backyard. Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 600 g of lamb ham
  • 4 potatoes
  • 200 g of butter
  • 1 onion 
  • 1 handful of hazelnuts
  • 1 bread
  • Rosemary - to taste
  • Dill - to taste
  • Hot pepper - to taste
  • Sage - to taste
  • Salt and pepper - to taste

Production:

  • Fry the lamb ham on both sides for 3 minutes. If you grill with COBB grillium - use it Griddle / Griddle+ plane. Cut the ham into pieces

  • Remove the leaves from the cabbage, cut the bread into slices. Cut the potatoes into slices

  • Put some butter in the bottom of the baking dish and start layering: add slices of bread, lamb, cabbage, butter, potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add the chopped hot pepper. Cover with hazelnuts, add another layer of cabbage. Pour herbs, put a layer of potatoes, pour nuts. Cover everything with a layer of cabbage, again with butter on top. Pour over the herbs and add the sage leaves. 
  • Bake in indirect heat, at a temperature of 180 degrees in the grill or in the oven with the "top-bottom" heating mode. Cooking time - about 35 minutes.
