Catfish fillet grilled

Number of servings: 4. Preparation time: marinating 30 min., baking 15 min.

A particularly tasty and simple way of cooking fish fillets on the grill. When cooking the fish this way, you don't need to turn it over, it cooks perfectly lying on the skin, which gets so toasted that it even looks like chips. Fish meat is cooked very tasty, juicy and not overcooked, and dill and mustard seeds give it a spicy freshness. The recipe - grilled catfish fillet - deserves to be on your table.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 large catfish fillet (about 700-800 g)
  • 2 hours lemon juice
  • 4 hours cold pressed olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. grains of mustard seeds
  • 1 large bowl of fresh dill
  • salt, ground black pepper (to taste)
  • vegetable oil (for greasing the catfish skin and grill)

PREPARATION

I washed the catfish fillet with the skin and dried it well.

I brushed the skin of the fillet well with vegetable oil so that it would not stick to the barbecue grill during cooking.

I mixed lemon juice with salt, pepper and whipped it with olive oil. I added finely chopped dill and mustard seeds to the sauce, mixed everything well. I poured the prepared sauce on the catfish meat and left it for an hour to marinate.

I prepared the barbecue for medium heat, for cooking on direct fire. To prevent the catfish skin from sticking to the grill grates, I greased them with oil.

I placed the prepared catfish fillet, skin side down, over medium-hot coals on the grill. I closed the grill lid and left the fish fillet to fry for 15 minutes. If you can, place the thicker end of the filet over a hotter fire, and the tail, where there are fewer coals.

In fifteen minutes, the fish will be completely cooked, and its skin will be browned and even burnt in some places. There is no need to turn the fish when cooking this way, its meat is cooked perfectly and juicy and comes off the grill nicely. If you want, you can cut the fish fillet into pieces before cooking, but it is not necessary, because the whole fish fillet looks nicer when cooked.

Delicious fish!

P.S. You can also fry not only catfish fillets, but also salmon or other larger fish fillets.
